    Family Hotels in Cyprus

This charming island is an ideal destination for any families wanting some early summer sun. It has plenty of inviting beaches and that wonderfully fragrant smell of olive trees and herbs which reminds you so much of the Mediterranean. On the western coast Paphos offers a combination of old world cultural charm with lively bars and restaurants. Typical in many ways to other Mediterranean seas side towns but still quieter than most. For anyone wanting to be able to get out and about then this is a very friendly and welcoming part of Cyprus and the Almyra hotel is the ideal base in Paphos . Further north is the charming village of Polis, home to the Anassa hotel and ideal for those wanting peace and seclusion combined with stunning sea views.

    When to Travel

From early May to the middle of October tends to be the best time to visit.  As with all Mediterranean destinations August can be very hot and therefore probably not ideal for very young children.  May, June and September are wonderful months to visit when the days are lovely and warm and the school holiday crowds aren’t around.

    • January - Not at its best
    • February - Not at its best
    • March - Good
    • April - Best
    • May - Best
    • June - Best
    • July - Good but hot
    • August - Hit and miss and hot
    • September - Best
    • October - Best
    • November - Hit and miss
    • December - Hit and miss

    Kids

Cyprus has easy direct flights to Paphos and Larnaca so works very well for children.  The island has a number of hotels which specialize in accommodating families and can offer all the facilities you need.  The hotels here aren’t your classic boutique hideaway but do work well if you need lots of things to help keep you children entertained.  For us the Almyra is one of the best hotels for families with very young children.  It is cool and yet has everything you need to help you have an enjoyable holiday.

Divided between southern Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish occupied north, Cyprus is the largest island in the eastern Mediterranean.

Cyprus is situated off the southern coast of Turkey, 200 miles west of Syria, which should give some indication of its sun-soaked climate. With temperatures regularly reaching 40C during July and August, it's no surprise Cyprus generally features towards the top of many peoples lists of summer destinations; with the sun overhead, the clear blue waters lapping at the island's shores prove invitingly warm almost all year around.

The port city of Limassol, the capital Nicosia, with its ancient hamams (steam baths) and markets, and the surrounding countryside, with its plethora of Greek and Roman ruins are well worth seeing. The countryside takes in some stunning mountain ranges. The Troodos mountains - which stretch their height to either just over or just under 2,000m, depending on your source - find themselves capped with snow during the winter months. The paths up and down are lined with olive and fig trees, interspersed with outlets for vendors of locally-produced wine, honey and cheese.

Paphos is a bit more tourist orientated these days although still quite quiet but for families wanting restaurants within easy walking distance this does work very well.

    Suggested Itineraries

We know it is often difficult, with the huge number of hotels out there, to know which one to go for, which combines with which and what sort of costs they are going to be. Here we have put together a few of our favourite options to give you a starting point. Any of these options can be changed, tweeked or added to so please do ask. The prices are per person and include international flights and private transfers. As the rates at all hotels change a great deal from their High Seasons (i.e the most popular times of the year to be there) to their Low Seasons (they often have great discounts at this time) we have based the 'From' costs on a good time of year to be in the country, the dates are included in the text at the bottom. Please do call us for a quote based on your dates.
