Family hotels in Dubai

A unique blend of ancient Arabian traditions and history along side top hotels, world-class duty free shopping and white sand beaches. Dubai must be one of the very few places where you can mix the most extraordinary levels of extremes. In a word it is bizarre! But great fun and an experience for all the family. The best bit about Dubai is how close it is to the UK making it ideal for a quick week of winter sun. And the beaches are remarkably good to. In fact so are the hotels, although this is something you might expect in a land where only the biggest and best will do. The children (and for that matter - husbands) will love the Wild Wadi Water park, the indoor ski slope and the water ways of the Madinat, leaving the mothers a chance to have a quiet sunbathe before tackling the incredible shopping!

Jumierah Beach, Dubai

A genuinely elegant hotel in the capital of Bling. Dubai really does what it says on the tin and if you want to combine the delights of this extraordinary destination with a wonderful hotel, with the largest grounds and beach in Dubai then this is an excellent option for families. And, as with most Dubai hotels, families are more than welcome. Children have plenty of space to play whilst also being only minutes away from the most popular attractions.

Dubai

Madinat Jumeirah is a city within a city, a self contained luxurious oasis of Arabian style. Extending more than 3km’s you are taken by water taxi through the meandering waterways to a multitude of destinations within this Arabian citadel. It is certainly one of the most amazing hotels to see and children love it. If winter sun and a beautiful beach are what you are after together with every conceivable entertainment for the family then this is the place to go. It is also attached to an incredible water park. Boutique hideaway it isn’t but it is a lot of fun.

Suitable for: Children of all ages.

When to Travel

The United Arab Emirates are warm all year round, but the best time to visit is from November to March when the average maximum temperature is 25°C. May to September are the hottest months, when temperatures often exceed 40°C.  We advise against travel to Dubai during our summer months (when even the locals don’t venture out doors)

Kids

Dubai is paradise for families wanting everything under one roof – they even have a ski slope!  With easy regular direct flights it is the perfect place for a winter break.  It certainly isn’t a destination for small, chic, boutique hotels but there is something very appealing about this unashamedly bling, all-singing-all-dancing destination.  The huge hotels have everything you need for children including a lovely wide beach running the length of Dubai.  You have water-parks, ski-slopes, huge shopping malls, hundreds of family friendly restaurants, kids clubs – in fact just about everything you need to keep children happy. Almost all hotels have inter-connecting rooms, baby-sitters and kids clubs.

Country Info

Flights:

Direct with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates.

Dubai is a city of traditional souks and towering sky scrappers – Las Vegas in Arabia.  Although very Western in orientation it is worth remembering that this is still a Muslim country with strict laws and traditions that need to be respected.

Dubai City:

The original part of Dubai surrounding the Dubai Creek and the main souks.  There are some lovely hotels on the edge of the city but these don’t have beaches

Jumeirah Beach:

This is the best beach in Dubai and home to both the Madinet and Royal Mirage, which are for us the best family friendly five star hotels in Dubai.  Jumeirah is on the outskirts of Dubai city.

The Desert:

Don’t forget that Dubai is built out of the desert – which offers plenty of fun and games from camel rides to wadi bashing in 4x4s.  You can easier explore this area by day from Dubai city or stay a couple of nights at one of the desert hotels.

Suggested Itineraries

We know it is often difficult, with the huge number of hotels out there, to know which one to go for, which combines with which and what sort of costs they are going to be. Here we have put together a few of our favourite options to give you a starting point. Any of these options can be changed, tweeked or added to so please do ask. The prices are per person and include international flights and private transfers. As the rates at all hotels change a great deal from their High Seasons (i.e the most popular times of the year to be there) to their Low Seasons (they often have great discounts at this time) we have based the 'From' costs on a good time of year to be in the country, the dates are included in the text at the bottom. Please do call us for a quote based on your dates.
