Our Review

Sir Richards Branson’s Moroccan retreat set in the spectacular Atlas Mountains but just 45 minutes from the Airport provides a delightful hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech The approach to this hotel, through the local village of Asni may make you a little apprehensive which makes your entrance into the beautiful Kasbah Tamadot even more delightful. Perched dramatically on the edge of a valley, with snow capped mountains as a backdrop you are greeted by stunning views from all angles. The 18 rooms and suites are each unique and all beautifully decorated to reflect the spirit and charm of traditional Moroccan design infused with contemporary elements. The Master Suite, located a few minutes walk away at the end of the garden has three bedrooms and a private pool and is a great option for families. You are self-contained in your own cottage but just a few minutes walk away from everything at the main hotel. Alternatively the suites are of a good size with a separate sitting area so plenty of room for an extra bed or cot. The beautiful grounds are filled with courtyards, gardens and staircases, it is quite a maze to work out how to reach your room which only adds to the loveliness of it all. It is worth bearing in mind for toddlers that the hotel is located over various levels with quite a few steps. There is plenty of room for sunbathing around the large outdoor pool, there is also a lovely warm indoor pool which my one year old daughter and her three cousins all under two particularly enjoyed, although being part of the spa I was aware to try and limit their shrieking. The tennis courts and spa proved a real hit with us adults, particularly since the children were happy playing on the grass around the tennis court – even more so once they spotted the resident donkeys. Obviously this then did lead to us having to book a donkey ride the following day which was no hardship since it was great fun and a lovely way to explore the countryside. The food is delectable the main restaurant, Kanoun, mixes local Moroccan products with international cuisine, while the pool bar offers lighter Mediterranean lunch options. They are very happy to prepare special food and light meals to suit your children. The service as you would expect is excellent, the atmosphere of the hotel is one of genuine friendliness which makes you feel very at home. Please note that children are very welcome but during school holidays only, please do ask us for the exact dates. Insider Tip... Being set in the Mountains means that it is a few degrees cooler than Marrakech which makes the temperature more comfortable during the hotter months.

Rooms

Total: 18 Rooms and Suites.

FAMILY ROOMS… Superior and Deluxe Suites can accommodate one child on a roll away bed. The Master Suite has 3 bedrooms with its own pool and is set away from the main building. A deluxe suite with pool and Deluxe Room can be inter-connecting (but these rooms can only be booked 2 months prior to arrival). Children are not allowed in the Superior Room or Deluxe Rooms due to the size of the rooms. Due to the location of the Berber Tented Suites (perched on the hillside), the hotel prefers not to accommodate young children (under 6yrs) in these suites.
